Have you been curious about chakras and wondered if you could teach children about them? The yoga poses below, which are coupled with positive affirmations, are associated with each of the seven chakras. In yogic philosophy, the seven chakras that run in a straight line from the base of the spine to the crown of your head make up the subtle body, which holds all the energy that affects your mind, body, and spirit. Though the chakras are developing throughout your life, children and teens are not too young to begin to understand the basics concepts of chakras. These chakra yoga poses below can help them tune in to their own health and wellness. Chakra yoga poses —including hip-opening poses, back bends, and inversions—ultimately help get the energy flowing throughout their bodies. A deeper understanding of their wholistic selves can be part of building a healthy life. Try these poses below and say the affirmation associated with the pose, feeling the truth of the statement each time. Check out our Chakra Cards for Kids as a tool to discuss and explore the basic concept of chakras.
Rainbow Tree: Chakra Balancing for Kids
Intention is the Force that moves Energy
Kids, just like adults, need time everyday to connect into their power and access the spiritual energies that are available to them. Adults, or children with experience, have the ability to sit still in meditation to rejuvenate themselves. Kids, however, tend to not have the patience for sitting still, especially after a long day at school being told to do exactly that!

The following meditation has been kid-tested on my own three children ages and is suitable for all ages including adults who want to feel like a kid Children love learning about and working with the chakras, because the chakras are body-based and are each associated with colors, nature elements, sounds, and visualizations. However, the focus when working with children is different than with adults.
Sacred Life Force Herbal Remedies. Children love learning about the chakras's especially since you can incorporate the different colors, nature elements, sounds, and because the chakra's are body based. Children naturally love to move around and need to move around for many reason. Begin with a strong foundation in the lower chakras before working with the upper chakras. Don't forget to keep the meditation fun and not as a punishment so that the child will learn to embrace meditation, and use it as a life long tool. Children you want to keep it fun, and teens may be able to sit in silence for longer periods of time than the younger children. Giving children tools on how to interpret their experience in their body, helps empower them to make decisions. They learn to listen to themselves and direct their energy in a conscious way that will allow them to settle into themselves and their authentic power. After teaching your child about the chakras allow them to have their own collective experience with their chakra's, and most importantly be willing to just listen.
